about

Though “Your Goddamn Walls” might seem from its title to be addressing topical political issues, it’s actually a very personal song, about my struggles to deal with a certain type of personality: the kind of person who is cold and remote and tries to erect walls around his or her emotions, so that it’s almost impossible to get to know them, even if you interact with them on a daily basis over many years. Surprisingly, I’ve had quite a few friends who have heard the song remark that they could totally relate, as they had a relative or friend who interacted with people with the same kind of lofty remoteness. Apparently (and sadly), a lot of folks have had to deal with the resulting emotional confusion and damage that kind of personality can inflict on others.

about

Mack Hooligan media, Pennsylvania

Mack's brand of musical hooliganism is a mix of rough-and-tumble roots rock, New Mex/Tex alt country (think Ray Wylie Hubbard meets Uncle Tupelo), and more traditional singer-songwriter balladry.
